“Health is the state about which medicine has nothing to say.” - WH Auden
Nidra
Sleepless sleep. Its been called the state of dynamic sleep. Through complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. In modern psychology it is called the Hpynagogic state. This method allows for communication or a bridge between the conscious and the unconscious. We learn to enter the state between sleep and wakefulness without loss of awareness. By remaining aware through this guided meditation, by listening, we more the mind quickly to visualize sensations and feelings. By setting intentions and a resolution we can remove unwanted habits and tendencies. This enables one to receive intuitions from the unconscious mind. Allowing for the flow of artistic creative and inspired discoveries.
Yin
From the Taoist philosophy, Yin and Yang defining dualism, two halves that together complete wholeness. Presenting how opposite or contrary forces may be complementary interconnected and interdependent.
Yang postures emphasize contraction, strengthening and stretching muscles as well as fascia around muscles.Yin, in contrast, is gently stressing the dense connective tissue, ligaments, discs and cartilage in the the joints. In order to strengthen these tissues you achieve this by pulling, tensile stress, squeezing and compressive stress and twisting. Because the muscles are relaxed in Yin they aren’t the layer that is strengthened. Therefore asanas, poses, are held for longer periods of time to achieve this.

In this state we have the ability to recognize the interconnectedness of the smaller pieces that often make up the bigger picture.
